Disney Investor Day was a busy and successful day to say the least. If you missed it, Disney has announced a slew of new movies, series, and projects coming soon! Among the plethora of huge announcements of the day was the Disney Animation Studios report on new animated series coming to Disney + and a new animated film!

First off, the very first original animated series from Disney Animation will make its way to Disney +! These series include Baymax !, Tiana, and Zootopia + will be released in 2022, and Moana: the series will be released in 2023. Next, Disney Animation is teaming up with pan-African entertainment company Kugali for a brand new sci-fi series called Iwájú which is slated for 2022.

Finally, Disney Animation Studios is bringing the country and culture of Colombia to cinemas (while waiting for the pandemic) with their brand new animated film. Encanto! Directed by Byron Howard and Jared Bush, the film surrounds a magical family in a unique magical house in Colombia. Charise Castro Smith co-directed and co-wrote the film, while musical mastermind Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote the music for this film. Check out the teaser above and keep an eye out for its fall release!
